Musique & Vin au Clos Vougeot is a non-profit organization founded in 2008 by Aubert de Villaine and Bernard Hervet. Its founding patrons include the prestigious Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Domaine Faiveley, and the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin.

Through financial support and access to its exceptional collection of 33 string instruments, Musique & Vin au Clos Vougeot helps talented young musicians pursue their studies and launch their professional careers.

Each year, at the end of June, the festival brings together lovers of Burgundy wines and classical music in an atmosphere of friendship, meaningful exchange, and shared passion.

Guided by a spirit of Franco-American friendship, Musique & Vin au Clos Vougeot embodies a unique alliance between internationally acclaimed artists, dedicated patrons, valued partners, and Burgundy wine estates, all united in their commitment to supporting the next generation of musicians.

The auction was a success !

Organised in partnership with Sotheby’s as part of the 18th edition of the Musique & Vin au Clos Vougeot festival, the auction was a great success, raising nearly €500,000 for the Instrumental Fund and the Young Talents Scholarship.

The lots offered included magnums of wine purchased by Musique & Vin au Clos Vougeot at the Hospices de Beaune wine auction. These included a 2019 Mazis-Chambertin Cuvée Madeleine Collignon and a 2022 Corton-Charlemagne Cuvée du Roi Soleil, produced by Domaine de la Romanée-Conti and Domaine Leflaive respectively.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Sotheby’s, our patrons, the contributing domaines and all the bidders for their invaluable support, which enables us to continue our commitment to nurturing the next generation of musicians.

What an amazing week! Despite the heat, we were delighted to share with you exceptional concerts, unforgettable encounters, and moments that seemed to stand still—moments when music, cultural heritage, and fine Burgundy wines came together once again

We warmly thank all our patrons and partners for their valuable support. Without them, the festival simply could not exist. We sincerely apologize to the wine tasters for the cancellation of the 22-24 June tastings.

Thanks to the unwavering support of Friends of Musique & Vin, our patrons, Burgundy wine estates, and partners, Musique & Vin au Clos Vougeot has been able to bring to life concerts featuring some of today’s most distinguished musical artists, as well as a wide range of philanthropic initiatives dedicated to supporting young musicians—initiatives that continue to grow year after year.

Some of these supporters directly contribute to the funding of instruments crafted by a master luthier. Each instrument is named after a Burgundy Grand Cru, preserving and celebrating the unique bond between music and the region’s viticultural heritage.

Exceptional Instruments for the Musicians of Tomorrow

Since its creation, Musique & Vin au Clos Vougeot has been committed to supporting young musicians. Through its Instrument Fund, the association finances the acquisition and loan of exceptional instruments crafted by some of the world’s finest luthiers, while also awarding scholarships to support their artistic projects.

Today, the Fund brings together more than twenty violins, violas, and cellos—true lifelong companions for these emerging talents as they build their musical careers.

Young Talents Grant
Invaluable Financial Support for Young Artists

Since 2008, Musique & Vin au Clos Vougeot has supported young artists at the beginning of their careers through its Young Talents Scholarship, funded by the festival’s charity auction. Designed for musicians emerging from leading European and American conservatories, the program provides essential support for their early artistic projects, as well as the opportunity to perform alongside world-renowned artists during the Festival.

Each edition traditionally opens with a free Young Talents concert, now held in the courtyard of the Hospices de Beaune.
