The Instrumental Fund for Young Talents

Aware that acquiring a quality personal instrument is a major challenge for young musicians, the association Musique & Vin au Clos Vougeot decided to create, since the very first days of the Festival, an Instrumental Fund to help young artists at the beginning of their career. Since the creation in 2010, more than 20 instruments have been ordered from violin makers with international references and loaned to young artists. For the 2020 auditions, the “Fonds Instrumental Musique & Vin au Clos de Vougeot” offers the loan of 6 instruments for a period of 1 to 3 years, thanks to our generous patrons who allow the acquisition of violins, violas and cellos of high quality.

The festival 2020

Once again, Clos de Vougeot, symbol of more than a millenium of Burgundy history, hosts the 2020 Festival Musique et Vin. The young violinist Jùlia Pusker and the soprano Meigui Zhang will open the Festival on Saturday, June 20, 2020, in Beaune with the Orchestre Dijon Bourgogne under the direction of David Chan with a free concert. You will witness the creation of the first Festival commission : a work by Pierre Charvet. Our friend Jean-Yves Thibaudet will give a chamber music recital with his partner Nicola Benedetti. We will have the pleasure to hear for the first time in Beaune, Alexandre Kantorow, young pianist winner of the last Tchaikovsky competition. Finally, this week of musical flavours and winey resonances will close with the flamboyant cello of Gautier Capuçon and the Orchestre des Climats de Bourgogne under the direction of Maestro Charles Dutoit. We are happy to see the Festival improve over the years, and we give heartfelt thanks to our patrons, partners, and all the prestigious domaines that help us bring to life this unique blending of wine and musical excellence.

Young Talents Auditions are postponed

Given the unprecedented epidemic that we face in France and around the world, it is with deep disappointment that the Instrumental Fund Musique & Vin at Clos Vougeot took the decision to postpone the Young Talents Auditions for the loan of instruments, that were to take place on 7 April 2020 at the Couvent des Cordeliers in Beaune. Depending on the future evolution of this health crisis Aubert de Villaine and Bernard Hervet, respectively President and Director of the Music & Wine Festival at Clos Vougeot will confirm the next date of this event. Selected applications will be maintained. We hope you all are healthy, take care of yourself! See you soon in Burgundy.
